ADVISORS
DR. ANGELA PANOSKALTSIS-MORTARI
Dr. Panoskaltsis-Mortari is a professor in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics, University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities. She serves as the graduate faculty in Biomedical Engineering, Stem Cell Institute and Integrative Biology and Physiology. Dr. Panoskaltsis-Mortari is a leading scientist in the field of regenerative medicine. Abbe Vision has joint R&D projects with Mortari Lab, University of MN.
DR. TIMOTHY S. WIEDMANN
Dr. Wiedmann is a professor of Pharmaceutics, University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities. His research activities are focused on optimizing drug delivery; in particular, inhalation drug delivery. Abbe Vision is collaborating with Dr. Wiedmann in the area of aerosolized surfactant delivery to preterm neonates as well as the development of highly efficient rodent inhalation exposure systems, which would enable extensive preclinical studies with newly developed biologics, whose high cost prohibits such studies using the existing exposure systems.
DR. KARI ROBERTS
Dr. Kari Roberts is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology, University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities. In addition to attending in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital and two other hospitals, Dr. Roberts is involved in various research projects. She has recently completed a clinical trial to validate a less invasive approach to lung surfactant delivery in preterm neonates. Abbe Vision is collaborating with Dr. Roberts in the development of aerosolized surfactant delivery technology. We are part of a breakthrough collaborative program of the Pediatric Device Innovation Consortium at the University of Minnesota.
